We can hardly help you if you don't tell us what you tried and what the error was.

Anyway, for occasional interactions, OFTC itself provides a web IRC client (I just tried and both channels worked): https://webchat.oftc.net/

If you want to engage more frequently, you can use https://element.io/ or any other Matrix client.
