Yes, there is a fair amount of PR involved, if that's what you're most interested in you won't be disappointed. All you need to do is register on tracker.ceph.com and let us know your account name so it can be approved. In the meantime you can take a look at the https://github.com/ceph/ceph/blob/master/SubmittingPatches-backports.rst documentation to familiarize yourself with the process.
Once your tracker account is approved you can take any unassigned & new backport you feel like doing for nautilus https://tracker.ceph.com/projects/ceph/issues?query_id=171
