I really won't comment on the rest of this email, the only portion I'm going to touch on is /etc/sasldb2 no such file or directory.

If nothing else you should 'saslpasswd2 -c cyrus' and then ensure that the file is readable by both cyrus and postfix (both should be in the group mail, and be owned by cyrus:mail) like,

-rw-r----- 1 cyrus mail 12562 2008-07-09 17:01 sasldb2

Now postfix shouldn't atleast barf like a little kid.

I have been fighting several days on following problem.

The LAMP server is working. Users can send/receive mails on
SquirrelMail. Also running "telnet localhost 25" on Xterm mails can be
sent to/received by outside world. However users can't send mail via
the server on their mail client, Evolution.

Always complaining;
Unable to authenticate to SMTP server.
Bad authentication response from server.

Please enter the SMTP password for user_aaa on host domain.com

On the server Xterm

But users can receive mails on their mail client, Evolution, with the
same password. I suspect it is an authentication problem.

Please help.  TIA
