Point taken :-), but it's handy to be able to use if
only for compatibility with CrossCrypt, which doesn't
seem to speak ext2.

Any thoughts on my failed efforts to build a new
loop.o ? It doesn't seem to find the makefile in the
kernel sources - not that the makefile has much in it,
just a few lines of code.

root  ~/loop-aes/loop-AES-v3.0c $ -> make clean
rm -f *.o *.ko *.orig *.rej *.mod.c patched-loop.[ch]
test-file[1234]
rm -f -r test-dir1 tmp-d-kbuild

root  ~/loop-aes/loop-AES-v3.0c $ -> make
LINUX_SOURCE=/ramdisk/usr/src/linux-2.4.26
INSTALL_MOD_PATH=/ramdisk/home/dsl/source
cd /ramdisk/usr/src/linux-2.4.26 && make
SUBDIRS=/ramdisk/home/dsl/loop-aes/loop-AES-v3.0c
modules Q='@cd

= "modules" ]; then make modules; fi; # '
