Hello,
I am running Fedora 10 on a PC with 2 quad core Xeons (E5420 @ 2.5 GHz).
The machine runs fine under WinXP-64bit
but under Fedora (already while installing) the machine freezes up,
sometimes after a few minutes and sometimes only after
1-2 hours. I managed over many reboots to install all updates with yum.
I am not sure if this is related, but /var/messages has the following
message:
p4-clockmod: Warning: EST-capable CPU detected. The apci-cpufreq module
offers scaling in addition of frequency scaling.
You should use that instead of p4-clockmod, if possible.
Can you give me guidance, if
1. this issue can cause the freeze-up
2. what to do to apply your recommendation.
Thanks
Frank Krawczyk
PS: I am running *kernel-2.6.27.12-170.2.5.fc10.x86_64*
