Hi Jan,
I have done a quick test about simply turn off multicast loop for corosync 1.4.4. And the result is totem seemed can not work.It prints "Totem is unable to form a cluster because..."

general answer is of course not. Up-to 2.1.0, this was the way code
worked. In 2.1.0 mcast loop is no longer used.
