Seems likely the same. The bug was fixed the 7th of Nov 2008. The
snapshot in debian is 5 days older.

You should file a bug on bugs.debian.org and get the debian maintainers
sort it out.

The patch is in git: c90643c8824ff2f12e2debc05f32f981facfcbd3

With those info it should be trivial for them to address it.
