If you use kernel client you don't need ceph.conf

Just setup fstab like this (this is example for msgr2 cluster only), for example for CentOS Stream kernel:

172.16.16.2:3300,172.16.16.3:3300,172.16.16.4:3300:/folder /srv/folder ceph name=client_name,secret=<client_secret>,dirstat,ms_mode=prefer-crc,_netdev
