Hi! 

 

Although I'm not sure why you'd want to do it, there's a thick provision option for RBD create, i.e. it is possible:

 

$ rbd help create | grep thick

  --thick-provision         fully allocate storage and zero image

 

Note that fully allocating and zeroing the image means writing data to every block, which may take considerable time.
