You can enable /disable bluefs_buffered_io (true / false). It was the default for a long time. It has been disabled for some time due to a RGW issue. But I believe it has been re-enabled again. I would leave it on.

I would find a lot of unused memory an issue. Linux wil generally use as much memory to buffer / cache as possible.
