This section says that supported ansible versions are 2.4 and 2.5. Is
the current version 2.6.2 supported as well or do I have to use one of
the earlier versions instead?

You can use 2.6.

Well, I think you cannot use ansible 2.6 at the moment. I tried and got the following error on all of my ceph nodes:

~~~
TASK [ceph-config : generate ceph configuration file: ceph.conf] **************************************** Tuesday 07 August 2018 08:58:34 +0200 (0:00:00.652) 0:01:06.831 ******** fatal: [cephnode.example.com]: FAILED! => {"changed": false, "msg": "Unsupported parameters for (copy) module: original_basename Supported parameters include: _original_basename, attributes, backup, checksum, content, delimiter, dest, directory_mode, follow, force, group, local_follow, mode, owner, regexp, remote_src, selevel, serole, setype, seuser, src, unsafe_writes, validate"}
~~~

After I've downgraded ansible to version 2.4.2.0 the playbook runs without any errors.

I've posted to the ceph-ansible list to discuss how to get the playbook working with ansible 2.6.

Best regards,
Joerg K.
