Re: Ceph mgr dashboard, no socket could be created

Hi John,

Yes, it was working for some time and then I tried updating the run_dir on the cluster for another reason so I had to restart the cluster.  Now I get the issue with the socket creation.

I tried reverting the run_dir configuration to default and restarted but the issue persists.

I looked for anything listening on that port but didn't find anything:

[root@carf-ceph-osd15 ~]# netstat -a | grep -i 7000

tcp        0      0 carf-ceph-osd15.w:37000 carf-ceph-osd17.w2:6894 ESTABLISHED

tcp        0      0 carf-ceph-osd15.w2:6960 carf-ceph-osd17.w:37000 ESTABLISHED

tcp        0      0 carf-ceph-osd15.w2:6863 carf-ceph-osd16.w:37000 ESTABLISHED

tcp        0      0 carf-ceph-osd15.w2:6855 carf-ceph-osd17.w:57000 ESTABLISHED

And lsof didn't return anything either.

Guess I could try a reboot... but would prefer to figure it out,

-Bryan

I'm curious about the "no longer" part -- from the log it looks like

you only just enabled the dashboard module ("module list changed...")?

Was it definitely working before?

I would look for other processes already listening on the same port

that dashboard is configured to listen on (7000 is the default), then

check for any security configuration changes (e.g. related to selinux)

that might be preventing it listening.
