If you're wondering why nobody is answering your mail, it's because that
EXACT question with nearly the same subject line was asked last Friday.

Google is your friend (when it's not stealing your WiFi passwords and
sending your mails to the NSA).

The MON daemon. 
So an 8GB machine would be plenty.
