Hello Cepher,

As my needs are to lower the $/To, I would like to know if the
replication ratio could only be an integer or can be set to 1,5 or 1,25 ?
In others words, do Ceph can compute data parity or only do multiple
copy of data ?

No, that is not possible with simple replication.

You might be able to use the upcoming Erasure encoding which Ceph has to offer, but it depends on your use case.
Could you give me more information about this feature (infos, URL) ?

How and what kind of data do you want to store on Ceph?
I am evaluating an object storage solution, mainly for backup/archiving purpose.

Sorry in advance if this is a basic question !
