Those are not NEW files

it seems you are not pointing to a valid (at least not updated) centos
mirror.

I suggest you check your /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo file (or
whatever you are using for updates).

The current gcc is 3.4.6-2, and httpd is 2.0.52-28

the versions you are using lead me to believe that you are pointing to
the 4.3 tree and not 4 in your yum repo file.
