Does anyone have any suggested PCI-X Sata Raid Controllers which are

3ware. THE most reliable. Never saw one fail and there were more than 10
boxes using 3ware cards. Watch out for motherboard compatibility if you
have one of them Intel E7500 or something chipsets.

If you need native kernel support, use the 9500, not the 9550. 9550 support
is currently only available with the driver available from 3ware.

OTOH, if you need good RAID5 performance, use the 9550. 3ware is pretty darn good about providing drivers/install disks in a timely manner, even for OS point releases.

Anyone know if 9550 support will be included in CentOS 4.4?

This bug <https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=174639> seems to indicate that it will be.
