IIRC, this was std. behavior for Adaptec HAs (and others?) if BIOS was enabled. Always liked that because the early 4GB drives were very unreliable and I could keep booting and running due to good backup, planning and drive relocation by the HA. > <snip sig stuff> -- Bill
