I am asking this here, that although a kickstart question, may have something to do with the Centos install? I took my Anaconda-ks.cfg from my system, turned it into a ks.cfg and did the install. Everything SEEMS ok, but why? First the partitioning information: ks.cfg supplied: clearpart --all --drives=hda part /boot --fstype ext3 --size=100 --ondisk=hda part / --fstype ext3 --start=14 --end=796 --ondisk=hda part pv.34 --start=797 --end=2303 --ondisk=hda part swap --start=2304 --end=2434 --ondisk=hda volgroup VolGroup00 --pesize=32768 pv.34 logvol /var/opt/scalix --fstype ext3 --name=Scalix --vgname=VolGroup00 --size=8192 anaconda-ks.cfg reports: clearpart --all --drives=hda part /boot --fstype ext3 --size=100 --ondisk=hda part / --fstype ext3 --start=14 --end=796 --ondisk=hda part pv.100000 --start=797 --end=2303 --ondisk=hda part swap --start=2304 --end=2434 --ondisk=hda volgroup VolGroup00 --pesize=32768 pv.100000 logvol /var/opt/scalix --fstype ext3 --name=Scalix --vgname=VolGroup00 --size=8192 what is happening here? Just putting the partitions in different locations, but the same size? Or just reporting differently? Now for packages. ks.cfg %packages @ office @ admin-tools @ editors @ emacs @ system-tools @ text-internet @ dns-server @ gnome-desktop @ dialup @ network-server @ smb-server @ base-x @ web-server @ printing @ kde-desktop @ mail-server @ server-cfg @ development-tools @ graphical-internet system-config-samba system-config-httpd kernel mailman grub kernel-devel system-config-printer -openoffice.org ethereal-gnome -planner openldap-servers krb5-server iptraf -openoffice.org-libs gftp lvm2 freeradius -spamassassin gnome-nettool system-config-printer-gui -sendmail-cf vnc nmap-frontend e2fsprogs -dovecot -openoffice.org-i18n thunderbird and anaconda-ks-cfg: %packages @ office @ admin-tools @ editors @ emacs @ system-tools @ text-internet @ dns-server @ gnome-desktop @ dialup @ network-server @ emacs @ smb-server @ base-x @ web-server @ printing @ kde-desktop @ mail-server @ server-cfg @ development-tools @ graphical-internet kernel grub kernel-devel -openoffice.org -planner -openoffice.org-libs lvm2 -sendmail-cf e2fsprogs -dovecot -openoffice.org-i18n Wow! is the installed list shorter than the 'asked' list. Or is it, perhaps the same way to report the same actions? How would I know? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
