vsftpd server

ok this might help but when I perform a status on the vsftpd server under /etc/init.d
it says vsftpd dead but subsys locked

is that of any help?

| out.. the 5 minutes or whatever you have your time out set to, it will 
| disconnect. But, it almost never returns the directory listing... but is 
| just connected. Some FTP clients will try non-passive after a period of 
| time, others you have to set.
