That?s what I thought, and it may still be true. Unfortunately, feedback,
bug reports and even fixes and improvements experience so much unkindness

solution or fixing the bug myself, with very few exceptions.

IIRC, Matthew who started this thread gave an overly perfect example of,
mildly said, unkindness, on the Fedora mailing list. All the more it is
surprising to see him asking for feedback yet again after he made clear
that feedback is genuinely not wanted, and even employed fashist methods
to supress it when he received feedback he didn?t like.

Just wait and see how he will like the feedback he?s getting here ...

I've fed a mixture of rambling bug reports, relatively good bug reports, and
badly written patches to the SSSD developers.

One of them was to scratch an itch that was perculiar to me, but I made a
patch, a flimsy case, and had it accepted. A short while later somebody
submitted another patch to resolve an issue with the patch I'd submitted,
which always makes you feel good about your handiwork.

Their general response to my queries and confusion has been to support me and
encourage me to test their latest code, ultimately to work with them by doing
testing and providing thorough logs to help them make their code better. I've
not got one negative word to say about them.

I'm not pretending every project is like that, but it's not just monsters out
there.
