Read the serial number off your Dell laptop, go to the Dell website,
and look up the specifications and the video chipset used. Is it the
ATI Radeon HD 5470 or the 4570? Both are good, recent chipsets, but
may take tuning or a more recent kernel and drivers than come by
default with such an old OS as RHEL 5 and CentOS 5.

Does 'system-config-display' recognize it?
