[Centos] Copying RPM's from CDs

Hello CentOS,

I've just installed 4.0 with minimal install (almost nothing extra).
I need to install GCC, and have asked yum to do that.  My question
though, is can I dump a copy of all the rpm's that are on the CD to
any specific spot on the system, where it'll pull those RPM's instead
of downloading them - providing they're up to date?
