Yeah, we've had several generations of intel motherboards that we've used for 
desktops with Centos (EL4), Tao (EL3), and Red Hat before that (815, 845, 865, 
915, and we're eval-ing a 945-based system right now).  For the most part, 
they Just Work (tm).  Intel's alsa drivers don't work with the (newest) 945 
system.  Also, you'll need to install/compile drivers if you want to use the 
integrated graphics on the 9x5G mobos, but intel's driver works with all the 
systems we've tried it on.
