Childhood Lead Exposure Linked to Apple Cinnamon Fruit Puree Pouches

During June–August 2023, routine blood lead testing identified four children in western North Carolina with blood lead levels at or above 5 μg/dL. WanaBana Apple Cinnamon Fruit Puree pouches were identified as the potential source.
