Weekly U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report Seasonal influenza activity remains elevated nationally, with increases in some parts of the country. Ten flu-related deaths in children were reported this week, bringing the total reported this season to 103. CDC continues to recommend flu vaccination at this time.

US Will Transition to Trivalent Influenza Vaccines for 2024-2025 Flu Season On March 5, the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee recommended that all 2024-2025 U.S. flu vaccines be three-component (trivalent) vaccines. U.S. flu vaccines will include an influenza A(H1N1), an A(H3N2), and a B/Victoria-lineage vaccine virus. US flu vaccines will no longer include an influenza B/Yamagata virus component. Learn More
