CDC Study Provides Flu Vaccine Effectiveness Estimates for the 2021-2022 Flu Season
Preliminary flu vaccine effectiveness estimates for this season suggest flu vaccination did not reduce the risk of mild or moderate flu caused by H3N2 flu viruses, the most common viruses this season. Studies on how well flu vaccines protected against severe outcomes are ongoing. A growing body of research suggests flu vaccination can reduce serious outcomes even when it does not prevent infection.
