COVID-19 Vaccine

COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for all people 12 years and older, including people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to get pregnant now, or might become pregnant in the future.

Valley Fever Awareness

Valley fever is an infection caused by a fungus that lives in the soil. About 15,000 cases are reported in the United States each year, mostly from Arizona and California. Valley fever can be misdiagnosed because its symptoms are similar to those of other respiratory illnesses.

Chickenpox Vaccine

Two doses of the chickenpox shot are recommended for children by doctors as the best way to protect against chickenpox (varicella).

Vaccines and Parents

On-time vaccination helps provide immunity before children are exposed to potentially life-threatening diseases. Vaccines are safe and effective.

Rhabdo and Firefighters

Firefighters are at an increased risk for rhabdomyolysis. Rhabdomyolysis, or rhabdo, is the breakdown of damaged muscles. This breakdown releases muscle cell contents (proteins and electrolytes) into the blood. This can damage the heart and kidneys, result in permanent disability, and can even be fatal!
