CDC Study Shows Waning Vaccine Effectiveness Against Adult Flu-Associated Hospitalizations
A recently released CDC co-authored study found that vaccine effectiveness (VE) in adults declined over time following flu vaccination, with maximum VE observed shortly after vaccination, followed by a decline in VE of about 8% to 9% per month post-vaccination. For adults 65 years and older, VE declined by 10-11% per month post-vaccination.
A flu vaccine is an essential part of protecting your health in 2021. Even if COVID-19 is spreading in your community, you can safely get a #flu vaccine by following CDC’s recommendations for doctor visits. Learn more: https://go.usa.gov/xsrHq
