Travel During COVID-19

Travel increases your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19. Staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others from COVID-19.  You can get COVID-19 during your travels. You may feel well and not have any symptoms, but you can still spread COVID-19 to others.

Family Health History and Diabetes

If you have a mother, father, sister, or brother with diabetes, you are more likely to get diabetes yourself. You are also more likely to have prediabetes.

One Health

Did you know that animals and humans often can be affected by many of the same diseases and environmental issues? Some diseases, called zoonotic diseases, can be spread between animals and people.

Drowsy Driving

Drowsy driving is a major problem in the United States. The risk, danger, and often tragic results of drowsy driving are alarming. Drowsy driving is the dangerous combination of driving and sleepiness or fatigue. This usually happens when a driver has not slept enough, but it can also happen because of untreated sleep disorders, medications, drinking alcohol, or shift work.

Healthy Swimming Year-Round

We typically think about healthy and safe swimming during the summer months, but a lot of people also swim in the fall, winter, and spring. Many hot tubs and indoor pools are open all year. Learn how to protect yourself and those you care about from illness and injury in and around the water.

Keep Teen Drivers Safe

Motor vehicle crashes are the second leading cause of death for U.S. teens. Almost 2,500 teens aged 13–19 lost their lives in car crashes in 2018. That’s about seven teens a day.

Tracking in Action

Tracking Network data allow users to stay informed about environmental health trends and emerging issues. As the 2020 wildfire and hurricane seasons showed us, having up-to-date, reliable information can be key to staying safe.
