Progress Toward Measles Elimination — Eastern Mediterranean Region, 2013–2019

To achieve measles elimination, efforts are needed to increase vaccination coverage, conduct high-quality supplementary immunization activities, and reach populations at high risk for not accessing immunization services or living in areas with civil strife.

The figure is a map of the United States showing age-adjusted drug overdose death rates in 2018, by state. The overall national rate was 20.7 overdose deaths per 100,000 population; three states had rates not significantly different from the national rate, 23 states and the District of Columbia had rates that were higher, and 24 states had rates that were lower. West Virginia (51.5) and Delaware (43.8) had the highest rates of drug overdose deaths, and Nebraska (7.4) and South Dakota (6.9) had the lowest.
