This program is designed to inform participants of risk and protective factors in early childhood and provide strategies to reduce disparities and achieve health equity through scientific and programmatic activity examples.

New Media Shows Many Faces of Breast Cancer in Young Women
Bring Your Brave, CDC’s campaign to inspire young women to learn their breast cancer risk and live breast-healthy lifestyles, is releasing a series of new videos and podcasts featuring young women affected by breast cancer.

Deaths from Falls Among Persons Aged ≥65 Years — United States, 2007–2016
In 2016, a total of 29,668 U.S. residents aged ≥65 years died as the result of a fall, compared with 18,334 deaths in 2007. To evaluate this increase, CDC produced age-adjusted rates and trends for deaths from falls among persons aged ≥65 years, by selected characteristics (sex, age group, race/ethnicity, and urban/rural status) and state from 2007 to 2016.

Declines in Births to Females Aged 10–14 in the United States, 2000–2016
This report describes recent trends and variations in births to young mothers aged 10–14 by race and Hispanic origin and state.

Viajo Sin Zika Campaign
This campaign aims to reach Latino travelers who are visiting friends and relatives in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Spanish and English language campaign focuses on travelers in New York, Los Angeles and Orlando. We’re currently disseminating messages through social media, paid advertisements, and partnerships in the target markets.

New CDC Site on Infant and Toddler Nutrition
The site covers a variety of topics including breastfeeding, formula feeding, feeding from a bottle, essential vitamins and minerals, and introduction of solid foods. In addition, parents can find information about what foods and drinks to encourage and what to limit or avoid, knowing when your child is hungry or full, along with mealtime tips and routines.

Alcohol & Breastfeeding Web Page
To better inform health care providers and nursing mothers, CDC recently launched a new web page to provide guidance on consuming alcohol while breastfeeding.

Fact Sheet on Alcohol & Opioids
CDC created this fact sheet to introduce health departments and health care providers to alcohol screening and brief intervention and to discuss its usefulness in helping excessive drinkers drink less when they have been prescribed an opioid pain reliever or stop drinking altogether while using these medications.

Health Care Provider Counseling for Weight Loss Among Adults with Arthritis and Overweight or Obesity — United States, 2002–2014
To estimate changes in the prevalence of provider counseling for weight loss reported by adults with arthritis and overweight or obesity, CDC analyzed National Health Interview Survey data.

Fewer HPV Infections Mean Healthier Communities of Color
Human papillomavirus (or HPV) can cause several types of cancer, and some communities of color have higher rates of these cancers. HPV vaccine can protect against cancers caused by HPV infection, protecting communities of color from these often devastating cancers.
