The CDC Influenza Division collects, compiles, and analyzes information on Influenza activity year-round in the US and produces FluView, a weekly influenza surveillance report. During week 48, ending December 3, Puerto Rico experienced high activity while New York, Colorado, Georgia, Louisiana, and Nevada experienced low activity. The remaining 46 states experienced minimal activity.

Early Seasonal Flu Vaccination Coverage
The CDC estimates annual influenza vaccination coverage for the U.S. by utilizing data from several nationally representative surveys. This report summarizes early flu season vaccination estimates for the general population, pregnant women, and health care professionals. As of early November 2016, only 2 of every 5 people ages 6 months and older had received a flu vaccination.

New Estimates on the Benefits of Flu Vaccination from the 2015-2016 Season
For the past few years, CDC has used a model to estimate the impact of annual influenza vaccinations. New data on estimates of flu illness, medical visits, and hospitalizations prevented by the 2015-2016 flu vaccines will be released, as well as a new range for deaths attributed to flu.
