 Weekly Influenza Surveillance
Flu activity is widespread in most of the country. High levels of flu activity are likely to continue for several weeks. If you have not gotten your flu vaccination yet this season, you should get one now. A flu vaccine is the first and best way to protect yourself and the people around you from influenza and its potentially serious complications.
What you need to know for the 2013-2014 Season
 January 8, 2014 – Canada has reported the first case of human infection with avian influenza A (H5N1) virus ever detected in the Americas. The case occurred in a traveler who had recently returned from China. H5N1 virus infections are rare and these viruses do not spread easily from person to person.
