Firefighters worked tirelessly to battle fast-spreading flames in Northern California’s wine country as the return of dangerous winds threatened to worsen the blazes that have killed 23 people. At least 285 people remain missing as the wildfires wiped out communities and scorched 170,000 acres. About 3,500 structures have been destroyed. One Less Spark One Less Wildfire!

Please remember to place your targets on dirt or gravel. Shoot in areas free of dry vegetation—and avoid shooting on hot windy days. Bullet fragments can be extremely hot and can easily start a fire. Use safe targets. Shooting at steel targets or rocks may throw sparks into the nearby vegetation. Use paper targets or clay pigeons. YOUR PUBLIC LANDS

A Natural Masterpiece: Public Lands and Homelands

Long before the concept of conservation was established in the public mind, artists were traveling America’s great wilderness and bringing back images of grand vistas, unspoiled skies and diverse cultures. So it should come as no surprise that the vast beauty of America’s public lands and tribal homelands have inspired artists for centuries. In turn, these artists have often inspired and heralded conservation movements, revealing the natural and cultural beauty of America to the world.
