Re: Configuring ratpoison

Curiously Strychnine for me, doesn't seem to like Mint however, at least in my test setup. Arch works perfectly well after going through my setting things up routine however

Alt F1 works fine here even if I comment out the other menus

install qemu.

Hi,

I installed Ratpoison along with the Strychnine and tried to follow the
guidelines. While this seems to be a great offering, I seem to have
issues with the ALT+F1 menu: it does not start the main menu. I removed
the qemu.desktop from the /usr/share/applications, but still Orca does
not announce the menu.

Any hints on how else to proceed?

Thanks, I almost got that correct. I'll remove the .ratpoisonrc file and
run the setup.sh script again.

Right. It should go like this:

Select your Ratpoison key. It comes up with a bunch of options. C- is
control,
M is either alt or shift

Super_L is what I go for, left Super key
Then if you got multiple browsers, text editors and so on it'll ask you
which
one, then it'll ask if you want Ratpoison to make sounds, how many
workspaces,
and if you want braille, then after that you'll have a .ratpoisonrc file

Next, either back up your existing xinitrc somewhere safe, or do ./setup.sh
-x
to make a new .xinitrc with Ratpoison settings then do startx

I got ratpoison and strychnine installed and ran the setup.sh script in
strychnine. The first screen of options I didn't understand so hit enter
on that screen without selecting anything. If I had to guess, I'd guess
that was a language selection screen but english so far as I could tell
wasn't on that screen.

Hi Brandt,

I forwarded your question to my friend Storm Dragon on IRC and here his

(16:25:09) storm: That's my script that creates a .ratpoisonrc. It's
what I
use
every day for my X session.

Cheers,

Hi all.

I installed ratpoison on my Slint system, and don't have either
~/.ratpoisonrc
or /etc/ratpoison.

Where can I get a good ratpoison config file? Does one of the Orca
users,
I'd
assume that would be most of us, have one on github or someware?
