Sorry, I must have not communicated it clearly. I don't have it on my Mac. I installed it on separate, custom-built hardware. My point was that my installation is native and not accessed via a VM. I don't know if there might be any keyboard shortcuts, like the super key, that might be intercepted by the host OS or the VM software and prevented from passing into the guest OS. I did however attempt to install Ubuntu on my iMac, but I didn't get very far; I couldn't get the iMac to boot from the USB drive and ended up just wiping the OS and reinstalling it ( https://superuser.com/questions/959422/reinstall-os-x-without-cd-dvd-or-apple-id ). FWIW here are some articles that discuss installing Ubuntu on an iMac which have been published since my failed attempt those many years ago: * https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/how-install-linux-on-mac-3637265/ * https://www.lifewire.com/dual-boot-linux-and-mac-os-4125733 (I have not attempted to follow the steps outlined in the above articles thus cannot be certain of their validity, but they seem legit) -- Karl Wilbur 513-322-2481 karl@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx On Tue, Jan 4, 2022 at 1:26 PM Linux for blind general discussion < blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hi! > Now thanks for that one. > But how did you install the Ubuntu onto your Mac? > Can you dual boot the Mac when you need or if you need? > My wish is to make a dual boot machine with both Mac and linux but I am > not sure if it can be done properly. > /A > > > 3 jan. 2022 kl. 23:26 skrev Linux for blind general discussion < > blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx>: > > > > I am using Ubuntu 20.04, installed on the machine, not in a VM.
