What I meen by new computer, is more like, new/old computer. I am using
a Huawei Matebook d15 which is less than 3 months old, and I actually
need it for my work.
I am looking at an older thinkpad as a linux machine, for I am not
buying Linux hardware specifically.
Thanks for the info on Twitter clients for Slint. I will have a look
tomorrow when I am more awake than I am now.

Caveat: for now there is an issue; six is noted as a dep of several
packages in the list, but actually python-six, included in Slint, is
the same
software. I hope to solve that in the coming days.
For now, as a workaround you can accept to build and install six as deps,
although it will be somehow redundant.
Oh, and you don't always need to get a new computer to install Slint
on bare
metal, there are other possibilities noted in:

For IRC, Slint includes pidgin and irssi.

package manager will likely turn up some.
