Yes, but get won't work.  Try it using mget instead.

By which I mean can I run the command in a specific directory where I really want to do this like...
get *.mp3
and download all of the mp3 files in a specific folder?
I know I would change to the directory first, I just want to gather all of the files in this way.
possible?
