The problem is that Speakup would have to somehow be able to use Android's audio subsystem, which may not be as hard as it sounds, but is indeed a consideration. It actually may be easier to get Fenrir to work, assuming you can get the Python stuff working. The other bigger problem is that it's hard to find a keyboard that will even have all the functionality of a laptop keyboard, unless you're using hardware via bluetooth or similar. Even then, things like screen reader function keys most likely won't work as expected.
