Re: archlinux rss2email choice

I'm reading through rss2imap and will build that if I can figure how it should be built. I found out the rss2email-wking package has imap support built in and is a fork of rss2email with some other fixes. The rss2email-wking is up to version 2.91 and other two packages rss2email is 2.61 and rss2email-git is up to version 2.79.

I think all those version numbers correct but I haven't reloaded the mental calculator with coffee this morning yet.

There's also an "rss2imap" program that you can run locally and have
it directly deposit/inject the contents into your IMAP folders,
bypassing the SMTP part of things

 https://github.com/rcarmo/rss2imap

Both work similarly, so you can kick the tires to see if it's easier
to configure that or get it up and running. It might also allow for
putting each feed in its own folder rather than directing every feed
to your inbox.

Hi Larry,

I could read on the shell account or on the linux box at home.
Probably best would be the linux box at home since it has other
tools on it too.

Hi Jude: Question is where would you like to read or save actual
articles? I would certainly have your shell admins install
rss2email there, as well as the setup you suggested. I had Ken
install this here several years ago. I actually was hoping one of
these type packages could aggregate a printer friendly view of an
article, but all they do is point to the web-site which publishes.
