vbetool dpms off down't work on Fedora any more

I allways used `vbetool dpms off' to disable the monitor on my laptop.
After upgrading to Fedora 22, this command doesn't work any more. Is
there a way to disable the screen? I don't use X, only the console.

Thanks and regards, Lars
