Thanks much! I'm using bash and that is a really counter-intuitive
technique! I'm pretty sure I'll be able to put that list into a file
and if that has names and installation dates I can do lots using the
sort command to adjust the order of packages.

Well Jude, while I don't know how to do this in TCSH, if I switch to bash, I
can hit escape 4times, it asks if I want a listing of an amount of packages?
In my case its 6216, only thing is the list is in a lopsided order.
