As I can tell, links-the-chain doesn't persist cookies to the disk,
so they're all lost when you close links.  There's not even an option
to persist them.  In my search, I did spot a patch on Github[1] that
would add persistent cookies but unless you have that, cookies
shouldn't survive past quitting links.

I tried logging into Gmail with links-the-chain and didn't have much
success.  I was able to log into Gmail with lynx-the-cat and navigate
it fairly well (there are elements that failed such as
multi-selecting messages and then trying to use the "delete" button
to delete them as a batch) but it was at least functional in
lynx-the-cat.
