All the tests I have seen are web based, so the OS on the machine is not a consideration. Just Google for some combination of speed test internet download upload etc. Dave -----Original Message----- From: blinux-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:blinux-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Tim Chase Sent: Monday, March 25, 2013 12:45 PM To: Linux for blind general discussion Subject: Re: Speed test for internet. I'm sure there's a better way, but I usually use "youtube-dl" to download a video from YouTube in one shell, while using "iftop" to watch the network I/O usage. As long as all the other devices on my network are quiet and not hogging bandwidth, I've found it to be a pretty accurate measure of my network speed. -tim _______________________________________________ Blinux-list mailing list Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list _______________________________________________ Blinux-list mailing list Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list
