Tony, thanks for your suggestions. So far, I've had no luck, but I'll keep looking into it. I just used a Sonar Project CD to see what an emacspeak speech output choice menu would give me, and I didn't see anything that looked lit it was for espeak. (Unless I misread my choices, the default seemed to be DECTalk hardware speech.) I agree fully with your complaint about Fedora. I'm using it now (1) because I like yum a lot and (2) I hope it'll help me with skills more employers can use. Otherwise, I'd probably use Arch or maybe Debian testing or sid, as both Arch and Debian have very good documentation. Again, thanks! I am not sure, but I don't know if the speakupmodified.org Fedora distro is still current. I mention it because it might have better Emacspeak support. With all of that said, I know that the distros I've used have the main Emacspeak package and ESpeak which you said are both installed. However, Emacspeak requires what upstream calls speech servers to work with synthesizers other than the DECtalk and a few others. I would look for other Emacspeak packages which call themselves speech servers. I don't know of any names offhand, but I'm pretty sure I've seen one for ESpeak. Installing it should hopefully make it the default. Otherwise, there is probably something you can edit by hand. Maybe search for: "emacspeak-ss-espeak" or similar. You can also look at the upstream site and see if you can find documentation. Apparently unlike with > some distros, installing emacspeak does not bring up a menu for choosing your speech output. _______________________________________________ Blinux-list mailing list Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list _______________________________________________ Blinux-list mailing list Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list
