re: printing signs from command line

Okay, I tried cat list.txt >/dev/lp0 since it has more lines and I have conventional printer paper in the printer and everything just hung. The interesting thing is, earlier I was able to use real dos (no windows) on a dos box with that printer hooked up and the printer correctly printed a file. I think I have a broken printing system here and there's so many parts in all of it I don't know where to begin to locate the defectives.
