Hi. FreeDots is an open source project for braille music transcription. It is based on MusicXML and offers the ability to interactively work with a score (read, playback) directly on your PC. The official project homepage is now hosted at googlecode: http://code.google.com/p/freedots/ Since cross-platform compatibility turned out to be a requirement for this project, its original prototype in Python is now being rewritten in Java. The rewrite already surpasses the original prototype in functionality. For those of you that are interested in helping this project to progress, there is now also a dedicated mailing list for FreeDots: https://mlist.tugraz.at/mailman/listinfo/freedots While there is currently no public release of the java-based rewrite available, plans are to distribute a public alpha version in the near future. The system builds fine on Linux with OpenJDK and a few external jar files easily installable. -- CYa, ⡍⠁⠗⠊⠕ | Debian Developer <URL:http://debian.org/> .''`. | Get my public key via finger mlang/key@xxxxxxxxxxxxx : :' : | 1024D/7FC1A0854909BCCDBE6C102DDFFC022A6B113E44 `. `' `- <URL:http://delysid.org/> <URL:http://www.staff.tugraz.at/mlang/> _______________________________________________ Blinux-list mailing list Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list
