Right, as Willemsaid in his message, exim4 sends mail and fetchmail fetches
it. But if you are having trouble receiving messages you send to yourself,
that might be a problem with either the send part or the receiving part. You
need to test them seperatly.
Use the email account you're using to post to this list to send yourself a
message on your linux machine. If you don't get it, then you know the
problem is in fetchmail. Also send yourself a message from your linux
machine to your other account. If you don't get it, then you know you have
something wrong in your eexim4 configuration.
To test your exim4 configuration, do this:
echo "hello" | mail -s test1 'daniel.dalton47@xxxxxxxxx'
Then check your daniel.dalton47@xxxxxxxxx> account to see if you got the
message.

Hi,
I can't get exim4 to work. Actually I am not even sure if my fetchmail set
up is working.
Could someone email me off list and give me some help? Also if you want I
can also log on to irc. But I am having a lot of problems.
I spent most of last night googling for info on exim and fetchmail.
It has downloaded messages but it won't download a test message I sent. It
is set to run every 5 minutes.
I logged onto my windows box and found the new mail. Alpine had no new
mail after 25 minutes.
