If you are using debian linux, you can do this:

I am on debian. etch. So will the following instructions still work for me?
Also my kernel is version
2.6.18-5


1. Add the following line to your /etc/apt/sources.list file:

deb http://people.debian.org/~shane/speakup/kernel ./

Hmmm I get an error with apt-get update. Can you in close the line in quotation marks?


"deb http://people.debian.org/~shane/speakup/kernel ./"
