I'm surprised nobody's mentioned knoppix. Isn't it a viable candidate?

At least the last time I checked, the Knoppix developer was still recommending strongly that people not install Knoppix to the hard drive since it is a feature limited derivative of Debian. He says people should install Debian instead if they like what Knoppix showcases. But I have not seen him address accessibility features in that context. Knoppix does come with a means of installing it to the hard drive, but it's not recommended.
